Most people don’t really look at their water bill as a major concern when it comes to trying to save money each month. But just by paying attention to some of the little things we as home owners do on a daily basis, you could easily save $25 per month on your water bill which comes out to $300 a year. Not too shabby actually. Here are some quick and easy ways to trim that water bill.
1. Shorter Showers – So just by reducing your shower by 3-4 minutes, that could result in a savings of roughly 4,000 gallons of water used each year.
2. Don’t run the water while you are brushing your teeth. Most of the time we are just looking in the mirror while we brush our teeth.
3. Run full loads on your Washer and Dishwasher – this will reduce the amount of times you need to run your washing machine and dishwasher.
I’m sure there are more areas you look to in order to try and save money, but keeping an eye on water efficiency in your home can give you some extra cash in your banking account.
